Washington DC: Hansa Luftbild participates in World Bank Land and Poverty Conference "Catalyzing Innovation"

At this annual World Bank conference on land and poverty Hansa Luftbild presented a land administration system which has been developed for the Ethiopian Ministry of Agriculture. The National Rural Land Administration Information System (NRLAIS) was developed in order to harmonize the rural land administration of Ethiopia. The innovative system with a modular toolkit approach is based on open source software and applies to the ISO Land Administration Domain Model standards. After a test phase the system was adapted to the legal requirements of the different federal states and will now be implemented across the whole of Ethiopia. It will enable Ethiopia to standardize its land administration countrywide and to gain administrative efficiency across all regions.

Furthermore Hansa Luftbild collaborates since 2016 on the project “its4land” which delivers an innovative suite of land tenure recording tools that responds to sub Saharan Africa`s immense challenge to rapidly and cheaply map millions of unrecognized land rights in the region. These technologies are being developed in co-operation with seven partners from academia and business enterprises from the EU & East Africa. The project is funded by the “Horizon 2020” program of the European Union under grant number 687828. At the conference on land and poverty Hansa Luftbild helped to lead a masterclass in its4land technologies in order to facilitate knowledge transfer to the conference participants.
