Flight planning is an essential part of any photogrammetric process. Our flight planning specialists select the ideal sensor for each flight after considering each projects’ specific challenges such as overlap, pixel size (Ground Sampling Distance) or flight altitude requirements. In addition they check whether the area to be surveyed has GNSS augmentation data (e.g. SAPOS®/APOS) coverage and determine the ideal time for the survey to take place eg at low tide or the best solar irradiation.
Hansa Luftbild always carries out flight planning with the aid of digital terrain models. In this way differences in scale between varying landforms can be adjusted to and flight missions carried out in accordance with this. Even when Hansa Luftbild uses GNSS/INS technology for surveys ground control points for checking results are still necessary and are planned with precision.
Tasks of particular importance to planned missions are the timely application for flight permits, and communication with local authorities and air traffic control. These tasks are undertaken by our pilots. This ensures that the survey can go ahead on D-day without a hitch.
Then the time is ripe. If you glance up into the blue spring sky perhaps you will see our bright yellow survey aircraft which deliver valuable data for interesting projects.
