The entire local government benefits from road surveying

The data of a laser scanning (LiDAR) and image mobile mapping campaign is used by many departments within municipal administrations. In addition to the specialist departments for civil engineering, building construction or green spaces, the finance department and political decision-making bodies also benefit from these data.

The infrastructure is a municipality's greatest asset. In order to maintain their functionality and their value, the short, medium and long-term management of the inner-city streets, the communal roads, pedestrian and cycle paths is necessary. For the right budget structure, you need reliable and current data that can be reliably and accurately generated by driving on the road with image and laser scan surveying.

Hansa Luftbild's measurement systems generate high-resolution images: planar and panoramic images and street orthophotos using a reversing camera. Municipal employees can use this image data to investigate the street situation on site from their desk. With the help of comfortable and user-friendly image display software (viewer), the measurements of widths, lengths and heights and other technical questions can be answered within minutes. In times of increasingly scarce staff, many questions can be answered time saving without on-site inspection.

Hansa Luftbild also generates highly accurate laser data with its new mobile mapping system. This creates a dense cloud of points, which forms the basis for versatile measurement functionalities and makes it possible to determine the condition of road and objects.

The image and laser data complement each other and ensure data transparency. In this way, users of the data can check the collected image data at any time. In this way, reproducible and comprehensible results are generated and not a "black box" that can only be verified by extensive on-site checks.

The possibilities offered by the determination of inventory and condition data are as diverse as the needs of the Hansa Luftbild customers: the basis for each is the registration of the surface materials and the type of use. As an example, data was generated from the images for a tree register for the Bavarian capital Munich, a lamp register for the city of Vellmar or a road sign register, with a differentiation according to the regulations for the city of Herzogenaurach.

In the context of condition data acquisition, the road damage is also registered area-specifically, so that the measures/quantities and condition values can be professionally calculated using condition variables and condition values. Using existing common data (traffic load classes, existing lists of local constructing and material prices), the costs for renovation are determined transparently and renovation proposals are drawn up with a list of priorities. This enables everyone involved to plan well-founded budgets - from the various specialized departments to the finance departments to the political committees.

Hansa Luftbild calculates different scenarios for each individual customer (current situation, technically optimal and a long-term investment) in order to find the best possible and at the same time realistic solution for the municipality. It goes without saying that Hansa Luftbild complies with the applicable data protection regulations in all these processes - through digital and analogue citizen communication, objection rights and anonymization / pixilation of the traffic images. The property rights of the generated data are of course with the customer.
