Annual World Bank Conference on Land and Poverty 2015

At the conference Hansa Luftbild presented a paper on the use of open source software in setting up land administration and registration systems. The paper was well received and promoted much interest amongst attendees. Open source software, which is increasingly being utilised for land administration systems, provides a cost efficient tool for delivering land administration software solutions to developing countries. This in turn helps ensure ongoing sustainable development in the countries concerned.

During the conference Hansa Luftbild co-lead a master class, along with ITC of the University of Twente and Dutch Cadastre, on “Open Access Tools for Land Related Geospatial Research”.

Hansa Luftbild is an international expert in the development of land administration systems, having successfully developed the Addis Ababa real property registration and land information systems. In addition the company is widely experienced in implementing geospatial data systems based on open source software.

The Annual World Bank Conference on Land and Poverty organized by the World Bank Development Economic Research Group (DECRG) is a key global event where representatives from governments, civil society, academia, the development community, and the private sector come together annually to discuss new developments and progress on land policy and implementation. The conference aims to foster dialogue and sharing of best practices on the diversity of reforms, approaches and experiences that are being implemented in land sectors around the world.
