The Third Millennium
At Hansa Luftbild, the new millennium is distinguished by globalization and the formation of networks. Hansa Luftbild is expanding its strategic partnerships and establishing alliances and joint ventures. Hansa Luftbild will also continue to expand its position as a market leader in the future.
By 1956 Hansa Luftbild in connection with the electrification of the German railway system had already determined that aerial photogrammetry was a vastly superior technology in terms of economy, speed and manpower requirements, to that of traditional terrestrial survey methods. Nevertheless the final breakthrough for digital work methods and products didn’t happen until the 80’s.With this breakthrough came the union between two related occupations: the photogrammetric operator and the CAD operator. The automation of the photogrammetric process continues uninterrupted. The switchover from analogue to digital orthophoto rectification is now complete. The process proceeds from photo scanning through digital aerial triangulation, to survey and thematic mapping and orthophotos. The core process in production technology is now digital photogrammetry. In the areas of geo infornation systems (GIS) and network information systems (NIS) Hansa Luftbild is also future orientated. The company is up with market play and uses leading systems - Bentley’s CAD and GIS systems (MicroStation), Intergraph (GeoMedia, MGE, DYNAMO, FRAMME) and ESRI (Arc/Info, ArcView). The company is also an authorised software developer for Bentley and Intergraph.
