Photo Scanner
Digital technology is also gaining ground in the photo laboratory. Using the photo scanner SCAI it’s possible to automate the subsequent photogrammetric processing thus implementing a continuous production process which saves time and allows client requirements to be met.
The scanner has a maximum resolution of 7µm (3628 dpi) and is equipped with an automatic winder for continuous operation. The ground resolution of the scanned aerial photos is dependent on scale and the chosen resolution. Photogrammetric restitution requirements determine flight, altitude, focal length and resolution parameters. The quantity of data and the concomitant required storage capacity must be taken into account.
The following table shows the ground resolution in cm for various scales with different scan resolutions and the resultant picture and data sizes (right):
Ground resolutions against scan resolutions of 14, 21 and 28 as well as different photo scales are compared.
