Award Rules
Hansa Luftbild has established an award of 1.500 € for an outstanding and valuable contribution to "Photogrammetrie – Fernerkundung – Geoinformation" the official journal of the ‘German Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing’. The prize shall be awarded annually, and for the first time on the occasion of Hansa Luftbild’s fiftieth anniversary.
The award is known as "Hansa-Luftbild-Preis"
The purpose of the prize is to promote scientific or technical accomplishments in photogrammetry and remote sensing, with particular emphasis on results with practical application.
The award is to be given to the author (or authors) of the best article, of practical application, contributed over the previous year to the magazine "Photogrammetrie – Fernerkundung – Geoinformation" (Photogrammetry – Remoter Sensing – Geoinformation). The choice of the winning article will made by an award committee. The award committee shall comprise the representatives of the ‘German Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing", an editor of the magazine, and a member of Hansa Luftbild’s management.
The award shall be awarded, where possible, to young authors, not yet recognised by other bodies or organisations. The article should be original and is not to have been published elsewhere.
The award committee can decide to split the award between authors whose contributions are equally worthy or not to make the award in one year and award it twice in the following year.
The prize is to be presented on the occasion of a photogrammetric event (for example during the Photogrammetric Week or general meeting of the "German Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing").
The decision of the judges is final. The making of the award excludes any forms of litigation or legal action. The management of Hansa Luftbild reserves the right to cancel or alter the above mentioned conditions of the award at any time.
